About 320,000 families with children from vulnerable groups will receive a one-time supplement of BGN 148.35 to compensate for their increased costs for electricity and heat last season. The funds will be paid by the Social Assistance Agency (SAA) in the period September - November 2023 to the families who, from 01.04.2022 - 31.03.2023, received monthly allowances for children until the completion of secondary education under Art. 7, para. 1 of the Family Benefits for Children Act.

The households that will receive the one-time supplement have already been identified and do not need to submit applications for its granting. The funds will be provided to them in the same way as they receive monthly child benefits. They are provided under project BG05M9OP001-7.001-0001 "Support for vulnerable households - SAFE" of the Social Assistance Agency, which is financed by the European Social Fund through the Operational Program "Human Resources Development" 2014-2020. The total budget for the procedure is BGN 49,370,880. Funding is provided through the REACT-EU mechanism.
