The budget of the procedure is BGN 175 million. The main objective of the measure “Care at Home” is to provide support in the home environment for people with disabilities and elderly people who are dependent on care.

It is expected that support under the various measures of the programme will reach every eighth Bulgarian.

54 stair lifts, 6 vertical platform lifts, 7 ramps and 4 elevators will be built in them.

Social inclusion and ensuring equal opportunities for people from vulnerable groups is also among the priorities of the HRDP. With its implementation, nearly 102,000 children and adults are expected to receive better and more effective social services, improve access to social assistance and health services.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Labor and Social Policy Lazar Lazarov approved an order to provide nearly BGN 5.7 million under the National Employment Action Plan. Additional funds will be directed towards employment and training programmes and measures for people from vulnerable groups in the labour market.

Each eligible person will receive a total of BGN 623.55 for the period 1 November 2022 - 31 March 2023, which is BGN 100 or nearly 20% more than last heating season. “The higher amount of the benefit will start to be paid from August 15,” Minister Lazarov explained.

Around 350,000 food parcels will be distributed annually with the familiar food products from the first programming period and as many more with hygiene materials, which are a new type of assistance.

Through the implementation of the Human Resources Development Programme, support will be provided for the development of the workforce in Bulgaria and overcoming the challenges facing the labour market.

“Our actions will be aimed at improving policies to increase the level of employment with a focus on the untapped resource of the labour market - inactive people. We will strive for consistency and upgrading of the implemented policies and measures in this area,” Minister Lazarov said.
